Ammonia from the animals’ urine breaks down into nitrous oxide, a greenhouse gas, when it mixes with soil. But researchers find that can be prevented if cows use a designated toilet where their urine is collected and treated. They have successfully taught 11 cows to use the “MooLoo”.
